FAMILY LAW
Patrick L. Casey, Q.C. has over 25 years experience in family law
and he understands that some family matters may be emotional
and disruptive, so he seeks efficient resolutions to legal situations
without sacrificing an awareness of the possibilities of negotiated
settlements, dispute resolution (including mediation and collaborative law), and litigation where necessary.
He is able to assist our clients in addressing the following issues:
- the support of children, including financial support, day-to-day
care, and access with parents or relatives
- the representation of children in court as litigation guardians
- the adoption of children who are related or unrelated to the adopting
parents
- divorce, common-law, or same-sex separations
- spousal or partner support
- division of matrimonial property including real estate, pensions,
and other assets
- tax and estate planning following a separation or divorce
- enforcement of Court Orders
- prenuptial and co-habitation agreements
