REASONS FOR HAVING A WILL

Making a Will is one of the most important things a person can do. Your Will provides for the distribution of your assets in accordance with your wishes. As well, it helps to protect your family from unnecessary taxes and expense, and makes it easier for your family or friends to handle your affairs after your death.

If you do not have a Will, your assets will be distributed according to the provisions of the Intestate Succession Act. This may result in your assets being distributed in a way which you do not want and could have unfavourable tax consequences.
